The Department of Basic Education
The Department of Basic Education is the department within the South African government responsible for primary and secondary education. Its mission is to ensure that children have an equal opportunity to learn and succeed. This department works with schools and parents to ensure that all children receive the best possible education. The department also provides technical assistance to schools to implement curriculum. It aims to ensure that the education system in South Africa is fit for the 21st century.
